The SHS is delighted to announce that Ms Sindy Meleady and Ms Aisling Burke have been nominated and shortlisted for the STEM Mentor of the Year Award in the Business Post Women in STEM Awards 2025.
The Business Post Women in STEM AWARDS celebrate and recognise the incredible achievements and innovations of women in science, technology, engineering and maths.
The event, which will be held in the Mansion House on October 23rd will platform women who are breaking barriers, pushing boundaries and making a significant impact in the world of science.
The criteria for the Mentor Award recognise outstanding mentors who have made a significant impact on the personal and professional development of women in STEM. From providing guidance and support to helping mentees navigate challenging STEM conditions, these mentors have gone above and beyond to empower and uplift women in STEM fields.
Ms Meleady and Ms Burke were the originators of the STEM Robotics curriculum in the SHS in 2019, and they were responsible for the development of the SHS STEM lab in 2023. It is not surprising then, that with their vision and determination they led a wonderful group of SHS students , and the first all -female team, to the VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas Texas in 2025 and indeed, won the Judges Award, the most prestigious award of the event.
We wish them the very best as they compete in this highly sought after category and as they continue to lead SHS girls to even greater success.
