Tullamore Midlands Regional Hospital has been a cornerstone of care in the community, providing vital medical services to countless families across the Midlands. Thanks to the generous donations collected by Friends of the Hospital, patient care continues to improve, and local healthcare initiatives receive valuable support.
The Sacred Heart School has built a strong and supportive relationship with Tullamore Hospital, working together on various local projects. Each year, the school’s choir, traditional music group, and orchestra join forces to perform a heartfelt carol service at the hospital, spreading joy and festive cheer to patients and staff alike. This collaboration is something both groups eagerly anticipate.
Each year, Tullamore Hospital welcomes TY students from SHS with open arms. This year, two students participated in a week-long work experience at the hospital in October. Nandana Anilkumar and Lucy Davis found their time at the hospital to be educational, eye-opening, and gratifying.
Both girls have been inspired by their families, who work in the medical field, and they were grateful for the opportunity to experience life in a hospital firsthand. They found the practice room particularly engaging, as they were able to observe and learn about surgical procedures that are vital to Tullamore Hospital.
Both students agreed that spending a week in the hospital was a rewarding work experience module, offering students a warm and informative introduction to the medical field.
