Sacred Heart School student, Angelina Sewell, was chosen as the winner to represent the Midlands Rotary zone in the EU Parliament in Strasbourg as part of Rotary International's Youth Leadership Development Programme . After completing an initial interview process in her school, Angelina was chosen to progress onto the Midlands Zone Final held in Athlone. Mentored by Tullamore and District Rotary representative Aidan Barry and SHS teacher Lavinia Reynolds, Angelina faced an intensive interview answering questions on issues in Europe, the community and the environment and how she as a youth leader will facilitate change in her local community. Angelina will now embark on a 5 day trip including a visit to Stormont, the Dáil, and the EU Parliament in Strasbourg where she will attend a "Euroscola" event. She will join youth representatives from around the world and act as a Member of European Parliament for the day and debate on topical issues.
